The history of the company dates back to 1893, when MAGURA Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co. KG was founded as a repair workshop for agricultural equipment and machinery. This was followed in 1923 by the invention of the straight-pull control lever for motorcycles, which led to the partnership with BMW that continues to this day. The innovative rack of the lever still adorns the MAGURA logo today.
Since the early years, the company has developed into an internationally successful manufacturer of brake and performance components for the motorcycle and bicycle sectors. Along the way, MAGURA has set many milestones for the bicycle industry, including the hydraulic rim brake (MAGURA Hydro-Stop) and the famous MAGURA Gustav M disc brake.
