Forbidden Druid V2 MX Carbon | Frame Kit 2024
The FORBIDDEN Druid V2 is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. With the Trifecta suspension system and its high pivot point, it defies all logic.
Thanks to the combination of unique traction and playful handling, even rougher terrain loses its terror.
With its balanced geometry, the Druid combines stability and agility in one bike and feels equally at home on the daily after-work ride, the shuttle tour at the weekend or the alpine crossings during the holiday.
By definition, the Druid is a short-travel trail bike, but in reality it turns out to be a fun, pedal-efficient and mile-eating downhill monster.
This bike is in a league of its own and therefore doesn’t fit into any pigeonhole.
One of our core philosophies is that everyone who rides our bikes should experience a similar ride, regardless of their size or stature.
To that end, we’ve put special effort into our geometry and sizing, and one of the most important factors in a bike’s overall feel is its weight balance.
The term “weight balance” refers to the ratio between the center rear and center front, and the resulting position of the rider’s center of gravity between the tire contact patches.
How each tire is weighted directly affects the grip characteristics of the bike. This weight distribution will also have a profound impact on both the agility and stability of the bike.
Many brands talk about their bikes having a “balanced geometry”, but only use a single measurement for the rear wheel center (chainstay) on all frame sizes.
If the rear center remains constant at each size, while the front center changes, it stands to reason that each size [des Fahrrads] will have a different weight distribution and therefore a different ride.
To ensure a consistent riding experience across all sizes at Forbidden, we use a scaled rear center measurement for each individual frame size.

The most obvious feature of our Trifecta suspension system is the high pivot point and the resulting rear axle travel.
Unlike some other frame designs that speak of a backward portion of their axle travel, the height of our main pivot point within the frame structure means that our axle path occupies a fully backward trajectory throughout its movement.
This backward movement allows the rear wheel to move with and not against each impact.
This, in turn, allows the bike to stay steady and maintain momentum even on uneven terrain.
The extension of the center rear during compression also has the advantageous property of stabilizing the chassis during major impacts and deflections.
Imagine a weight distribution that is playful when you’re high up, but inherently more serene when you need it most; That’s what a high pivot point can add to your trail riding experience.
Anti-rise is another term that is often discussed and regularly misunderstood; This term describes the effect of braking on the suspension system.
Distinct anti-rise was once considered a negative trait.
However, as our understanding of chassis dynamics has improved and, more importantly, our riding styles have evolved, it is now seen as a useful aspect that can be used to further optimize the bike’s handling.
The anti-rise grade of our system helps counteract the inevitable fork dip that comes with the high braking loads that often occur in modern, aggressive trail riding.
The result is consistent chassis stability under hard braking.

The beating heart of our Trifecta suspension system, the Rate Control Linkage, is used to manipulate the leverage when the suspension compresses.
Lately, we’ve been observing a somewhat all-encompassing search for more progressiveness and an understandable by-product of modern mountain biking.
It’s clear that as trail speed increases and more impacts, the need for more support in the middle and end of the stroke is ever-present. However, the trade-off is that if the progression is too large, the suspension system’s ability to absorb shocks can be negatively affected.
By using relatively small compounds that experience a dramatic change in speed, we can independently tune the critical levels of compression of the shock absorber.
Our goal with the Druid’s Middle Strike was to be supple from above and provide sufficient support, but still remain open enough to absorb repeated blows without harshness.
On the final strike, the rate of change continues to increase and it’s all about the bottom-out resistance required to absorb the big hits and landings that come out of nowhere.
The end result is a bike that can outperform bikes with significantly more travel, producing grip and pop almost simultaneously while offering an unimaginable ability to absorb the big hits.
While this may sound arrogant, don’t just take our word for it, read the reviews.

The size and position of our pulley is crucial and gives our bikes the efficient pedaling ability they are known for.
By carefully positioning the pulley, which is offset from the main pivot point, we were able to fine-tune the anti-squat characteristics.
Therefore, our bikes have the ideal level of anti-squat in the sag range that we have determined to enable a very stable pedaling response. Unlike traditional designs without an idle wheel, we can achieve these anti-squat values with virtually no pedal kickback.
This is ideal for flat pedal riders, but also means that the suspension remains fully active when pedaling, providing perfect traction on technical and crisp climbs.
