The best MTB pedal we know
No expense or effort spared. That was our guiding principle in order to build the most stable and lightest flat pedal with the lowest possible loss of performance.

If you build strong, you can build light.
The Syntace monoblock pedal body is milled from a single piece of aerospace-certified 7075-T6 aluminum, instead of the usual extruded profiles made of soft 6061 alloys or even magnesium alloys, which are very prone to breaking or bending at the bars in contact with the enemy. All support arms and crossbars of the Syntace NumberNine² Titan are designed exclusively as statically determined support profiles, without any slots, perforations or similar fashionable attributes. This makes the NumberNine² Titan almost indestructible in hard, rocky terrain. A hollow drilled, high-strength titanium axle tested according to a significantly more stringent, proprietary test standard for pedal axles reliably holds the NumberNine² flat pedal at over 500 kg breaking load per pedal! To date without a single pedal breakage. In the event of lateral crash impacts, the axial force absorption in the Syntace NumberNine² titanium pedal takes place via a special robust end stop instead of via the ball bearings. This means that the ball bearings are not radially loaded by hard impacts from the outside.

100% ball bearings, nothing else.

Consistently applied physics: Rolling bearings have significantly lower friction losses than plain bearings, especially under load. Especially when the plain bearings, which are usually open, have the typical dirt ingress. This is why we only use very heavy-duty precision ball bearings at all three bearing points of the NumberNine pedal. For you as a rider, this means that you get pedals with the lowest possible loss of performance. The harder you pedal, the greater this performance advantage becomes.

The result:

Sensational 285 g (size M incl. 44 pins and grease filling). The 44 pins are cleverly positioned on the tread surface and sit on a special, slightly concave height arrangement: the middle pins of the NumberNine² Titan are slightly lower, the outer eight pins sit on raised and completely continuous bars without any recesses.

Turns super easily when it should.

Thanks to the close-fitting rubber seal, the Syntace NumberNine² rotates smoothly without strain, just as it should. The idea behind this is that the pedal does not change its alignment significantly when the shoes leave it in an off-road situation, only to land again shortly afterwards. This intended low friction in the gram range has no influence on the extremely low friction under load.

The Syntace NumberNine2 is a super smooth-running pedal with a coefficient of friction that is two decimal places (!) better than conventional pedals with the usual plain bearings.

To each rider their own pedal size

The Syntace NumberNine² is the first pedal that is not available in just one standard size, but in three proportionally adapted sizes. This is because it makes sense that the pedal size should not fit a standard person, but should fit you as well as possible. The following applies for rough pedal size orientation
