Description
With the M8100 Deore XT crank Shimano makes a big step forward in several aspects. Probably the most striking innovation: The M8100 is designed for Direct Mount chainrings. Thanks to the special DCE+ Narrow Wide profile of the teeth and the Hyperglide+ chain design, the 52 millimeter offset of the chainrings is suitable for both BOOST and standard rear hubs. Available are the matching Direct Mount chainrings with 28 to 36 teeth.
In the design of the crank Shimano continues to rely on the proven Hollowtech-2 technology with 24 millimeter crankshaft. Through optimizations in the design could be in the current generation of cold forged aluminum crank further weight savings and at the same time increased the stiffness.
